Udupi, Dec 12: Annual feast of St Anne's Church Thottam was celebrated on Wednesday. December 11. Fr Anil D’Souza, Parish Priest Perampally church was the chief celebrant for the Eucharistic celebrations.

In his homily Fr Anil said, "Today we have to thank God and St Anne for all the goodwill they have showered upon us. Our family helps us to lead our life. It is a gift of God. No one of us have chosen our family, but it is a plan of God himself. Job Patriarch believed that Almighty has taken back what he gave to him. He offered prayers to God when he was abandoned by his own friends and family. For the life he led he got in return more than what he had lost earlier.”

"God cares for them, who live under his shadows. In the New Testament the Holy family of Nazareth is an ideal example for us to lead our family. When every family member knows what his or her role in a family is and fulfills it, then undoubtedly, that family will be a holy family. Holy family of Nazareth believed in Almighty and did according to His wishes. Every one of us should understand what plans God has for our family. Every family suffers difficulties, but we cannot ignore our families just for the sake of facing difficulties. It is a plan of God; we need to accept this with great humbleness. St Anne is ideal for all of us. Mother Mary learnt many things from her family. She accepted the plan of God whole heartedly," he added.

A large number of devotees attended the Eucharistic celebrations.

Fr Alban D'Souza, Parish Priest Kalmady, Fr Francis Cornelio, parish priest, Thaottam, Fr Richard D’Souza, Parish Priest, Brahmavar, Fr Victor, Parish Priest, Kemmannu, Fr Gilbert, Fr Romeo and other priests of the deanery were present.

Murdom Ozwald Vaz, Thottam/Bahrain and family members were honored by parish priest on the occasion.
