Udupi, Oct 21: A preliminary meeting regarding Baba Ramdev’s Yoga Camp was held at Kanaka Mantapa of Sri Krishna Math on Sunday, October21 in the presence of Sri Vidyadeesha Swamiji of Palimaru Math.
Sri Vidyadeesha Swamiji of Palimaru Mutt said,”Yoga is accepted universally and is important for everyone to do yoga in their daily life. Each and every one must enjoy yoga and benefit by it. Maximum number of people should participate in Baba Ramdev’s Yoga camp, which will be held from November 16 to 20, and make themselves healthier.”
Patanjali committee district president Karamballi Shivram Shetty stated that they wished to have at least 101 yoga camps in the district. But the probability is that the number is going to be exceeded. Already the camp is conducted in 34 places. Shivaram Shetty also remembered the co-operation of city bus owners during the camp which was held at 2011.The buses brought people from Malpe, Kallianpura, Parkala and other places in the early morning at around 4 am. The committee requested the city bus owners to continue their co-operation even during the 2019 yoga camp.
District Patron Balaji Raghavendra Acharya said that the people remember the statements made by Baba Ramdev in 2011.Ramdev admired Udupi Sri Krishna Math as well as people who participated in the camp. Raghavendra Acharya said that he is sure that this year’s yoga camp will break the records of yoga camp which was organized in 2011.
Bawarlal Arya, State in-charge of Patanjali Yoga Committee said, “Around 2.5 crore people have attained yoga training under the leadership of Baba Ramdev. Baba Ramdev is coming from Haridwar to Udupi and this yoga festival will be turned into festival of happiness. Already seven teachers are preaching yoga in the camps and from November 1, yoga teachers from different parts of the state are going to be a part in Udupi’s Yoga Camp. Yoga committee will be formed soon for the proper functioning of the camp.”
T Shambu Shetty, RSS activist, Hariyappa Kotian, businessman and Mattu Lakshminarayan spoke on the occasion. Administrator of Palimaru Math Prahlad Rao welcomed the gathering. Assistant state in charge of Patanjali committee Dr Jnaneshwara Nayak, State president from female wing Sujatha Marla, District president Leela Amin were present in the programme.
