Mangaluru, Oct 19: St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, organised a workshop on ‘Preparing for Assessment and Accreditation by NAAC’ on Friday, October 18, at the college conference hall, Sophia Block.
The workshop was organised under the ‘Paramarsh-UGC Scheme for Mentoring NAAC Accreditation Aspirant Institutions to Promote Quality Assurance in Higher Education’.
The basic objective of the workshop is to provide expert guidance to the mentee colleges in preparing for the NAAC accreditation and clarify their doubts.
Registration of the workshop was done followed by the inaugural programme. The resource person Dr Odetta Hanna, former professor, department of Bio Informatics, Stella Maris College, Chennai and the programme co-ordinator of Xavier Board formally inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp.
Dr Sr Maria Roopa A C, joint secretary, welcomed the gathering. Sr Carmel Rita A C, college administrator, delivered the introductory message. Dr Ita Gonsalves, IQAC co-ordinator presented the overview of the workshop. Neethu, Lecturer, department of BBA, compered the programme.
A total of 35 participants from St Agnes College ( the mentor college), and 52 participants (principals, IQAC co-ordinators, parameter heads and senior staff members) of six mentee colleges namely, Padua College of Commerce and Management, Mangaluru, Carmel College, Modankap, Sri Ramakrishna College, Mangaluru, and three Government First Grade Colleges from Kavoor, Punjalakatte, Mudipu attended the workshop.
