Bengaluru, Oct 7: Three men ridding triplet on a bike thrashed a traffic ASI on duty for questioning them of their wrong side driving. This incident occurred on the night of October 3.
Mani (27), the rider of the bike is arrested by the police and search is on for his two companions, who were riding pillion with him. They allegedly beat the ASI and tore his uniform.
The accused were riding triplets on a bike on a one-way road, from the opposite direction. M Nagesh Rao, ASI of Jeevan Bheema Nagar police station, who was on duty on eight main of Sadananda Nagar, stopped and questioned them. The bikers got enraged by the questioning of ASI, hurled abuses at him, got down from their bike, assaulted and tore the uniform of the ASI. Though the passersby caught hold of Mani, two of his accomplices sped away.
As per the information provided by Rao, the victim policeman of assault, all three men did not wear the helmet, in addition to riding dangerously from the wrong direction on a one-way road.
Mani is booked under IPC 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) by the Byrappanahalli police based on the complaint filed by Rao.
