Moodbidri, Dec 25: Carmel School upheld the spirit of generosity and community service by organizing a remarkable outreach programme on December 20 and 21. This initiative a blend of service learning, experiential learning and compassion left an indelible mark on the hearts of all participants, spreading joy and kindness across three unique locations.
The students accompanied by staff visited Navachethana Special School Venur, Jeevadaan Institute Kaikamba and Sion Ashram carrying with them offerings of essential items brought by the students of our school, heartfelt cultural performances and Christmas cheer. They engaged with the residents through interactive games carol singing, prayer services and meaningful conversations.
At Navachethana, the students were moved by the vibrant dance performance of the children and gifted handcrafted doormats as tokens of love. The visit to Jeevadaan Institute included cultural exchanges where residents showcased their talents with handcrafted candles and performances deepening the students understanding of empathy and the joy of giving. At Sion Ashram the group shared festive moments with elderly residents drawing inspiration from their stories and reflecting on the selfless dedication of the ashram’s founders.
These encounters highlighted the values Carmel School instils in its students empathy, gratitude and a commitment to social responsibility. The initiative not only brightened the lives of the less fortunate but also nurtured a profound sense of appreciation and community among the students.
