Bantwal, Sep 27: In an operation conducted on Thursday September 26 by Bantwal rural station house officer, Prasanna M S, with the support of his staff, nine cows and two bullocks which had been stolen and tethered at Ammemar in Farangipet were rescued.
Those who stole and brought the cattle here had planned to sell these animals. As soon as they sighted the police personnel from a distance, they disappeared, it is gathered. The police have estimated the value of the cattle rescued at Rs 1.01 lac. Four among them are milch cows.
Head constable Janardhana Poojary and other staff participated in the operation. A case about this operation was registered in the rural police station here. The cattle are currently in the possession of the police.
