Udupi, Sep 27: NSS Day celebration was held September 25 at St Mary’s College Shirva, in the college Audio Visual Hall.
Assistant professor Premanath welcomed the chief guest and in his opening remarks spoke about the importance of the day. Previous year NSS volunteer Chithra of Final B A shared her opinion on this occasion.
Chief guest of the programme Rtd HOD of History Prof Gopalakrishna Samaga, spoke about the development of leadership qualities, coexistence relationships among the youth and how NSS will help to develop personality of an individual.
President of the programme Prof Rajan V N spoke about the importance of developing good qualities, self-discipline among the NSS volunteers.
On account of NSS Day several competitions were held on September 21. Programme officer Tanuja N Suvarna read out the prize list. Prizes were distributed during this occasion.
Special recognition was given to those NSS volunteers; who planted saplings in their home garden. NSS unit leader Deekshitha Prabhu was present on the dais.
Second year NSS volunteer Erin Quadres compeered the programme. NSS unit leader Karthik proposed the vote of thanks.
