BANGALORE, Jul 14:  Helipads are proposed to be established in 21 places of different districts of Karnataka, Tourism and Infrastructure Development Minister G Janardhana Reddy informed the state legislative assembly on Tuesday.

Deputy commissioners of each of the districts where the helipads are proposed have been released financial grants of Rs 10 lakh each, the minister said,

Steps are being taken to develop airports in Gulbarga, Shimoga, Hassan, Bijapur and Bellary under public-private-partnership model.

The Minister said Centrally-owned airports were being developed at Belgaum, Hubli, Mangalore and Mysore by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Meanwhile, chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, in reply to a question, informed the state assembly that the government proposed to Bangalore One type of centres to help citizens with various services and bill payments in Mangalore, Mysore, Shimoga and Belgaum city corporations after the success of the centres in Bangalore, whose number was being increased from the present 53 to 100 by the end of the year.

Mysore city corporation will be the first to get Bangalore One type of centres, he said pointing out that five different locations had already been id,entified. Mangalore, Shimoga and Belgaum will get similar centres later.

``The  nomenclature of the proposed centres in different cities is yet to be finalised,’’ Yeddyurappa said indicating that the government was keen on implementing e-governance in all departments from the district to state secretariat level and eventually extended till the grama panchayat levels. 

``Our ultimate objective is to transform Karnataka into a model state in e-governance,’’ he added.
