Udupi, Jul 3: The sub-registrar here is no mood to hand over charge to the man who came on transfer to his place over a week back. The tug-of-war, which has been on since June 24, continues without a solution.
Sub-registrar K Ramakrishna had come here on transfer from Beltangady and joined the office on June 24. However, M Prameshwar Rao, sub-registrar, has steadfastly refused to hand over the post to him. Rao says he has not received the transfer order.
Ramakrishna has been claiming that Parameshwar is violating the government orders by not handing over the charge to him and that he has been made to face the humiliation of having to sit in a corner of the office the whole day and go back home. He explained that he has two more years of service left, and considering his request and service seniority, he has been transferred back to his native place. He claimed, Parameshwar had received the transfer order but has been falsely claiming otherwise. The records in the office show that Parameshwar has received the transfer order on June 24, he insisted.
Rao says, he would stick by procedures and leave only after he receives his transfer orders, which he insisted, he is yet to receive. The tussle has become a laughing stock among the general public and a topic for discussion.
