Mangaluru, Aug 19: The academic year 2019-20 of St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute was inaugurated on August 17.
The programme commenced with a prayer song. Vincent Mendonsa, principal of the institution extended a cordial welcome to everyone.
The academic year was inaugurated symbolically by lighting a lamp by the dignitaries. Chief guest of the programme Chethan R, principal, Hebich ITI, Mangaluru. Addressing the students he said, “Your professional life starts today itself. By enrolling into an industrial training institute, you are entering into a professional career. You must decide today itself what kind of professional life you want to employ. The sky is the limit for what you can achieve in life. Have a clear goal and take up responsibility for your actions. Improvement should be a continuous process. Let us join hands for the improvement of our nation.”
Fr Cyril D’Mello SJ, director of the institution introduced the faculty members to the gathering and said, “I am proud to announce that we have a very experienced and well qualified team of teachers spearheading the training activities in our institution. They have shaped the lives of thousands of students. We encourage students to have 100% attendance. Parents should keep in touch with the instructors. We should work as a team for the betterment of students. I wish a bright future to all.”
The programe was presided over by Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, rector of St Aloysius Institution. Delivering his presidential address he said, “We focus on personal attention to every student. Our institution is always for the poor and underprivileged. In order to give best quality education, we put much more from our hands than what we could collect from the fee. Along with mainstream education, our institutions strive to shape a student into a better human being. Parents should give their children roots and wings. Roots stand for values of family, values of culture, values of humanity etc. Wings stand for freedom with responsibility. Do not pressurise your children, instead give them opportunities to explore themselves.
Students should develop their grasping ability and questioning ability. Questioning the mind is the basis of every innovation. Grow taller in life. God bless you.”
