Bangalore, May 27: Former chief minister and state JDS president H D Kumaraswami sought to end all the speculations about his plans of forgoing the Lok Sabha seat, by asserting that he will continue to be a MP. Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday May 26, he said he would be taking oath as MP at the Lok Sabha session scheduled to be held on June 1.
"I will soon decide about the timing of the resignation to be tendered to my assembly seat. I want to resign from this seat at the earliest," he informed.
Kumaraswami added that as a Lok Sabha member, he wants to work earnestly for the development of the state. "As the people have reposed faith in me and voted me to the parliament, my responsibility has gone up from one assembly constituency, to eight constituencies. I will put in best possible efforts to ensure that the share to which the state government is eligible from the centre, is sanctioned by the union government. All the three MPs from the party will bring pressure on the union government to develop the state," he said.
