Mangaluru, Jun 29: Under the project of June ‘Eat well to be fortified’ Lourdes Central School, kindergarten section organized an elocution competition for the KG 2 children on ‘Healthy Diet’. On June 21, the little ones were emphasized that to keep body in good health is one’s prime duty otherwise they shall not be able to have a strong and clear mind. Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. To ensure good health the little ones were stressed to get healthy tiffins homemade food prepared by their moms with love. Fruits, cereals, pulses were seen in their snack boxes, which looked like a rainbow diet.
Finale of the project was held on Saturday, June 29. The prayer song invoked God’s blessings on everyone present there. A jumpy song on Healthy Tiffin was introduced by Grace Roche with music played by Roshan Cordeiro which gave the kickstart for the programme. A fashion show on Rainbow Diet was held under the guidance of Linett Pereira. Children walked the ramp with great confidence. The first prize winners of Elocution Competition spoke once again reminding everyone of the Rainbow Diet. A song on Rainbow Diet was sung by KG1 and KG 2 chldren.
Principal Fr Robert D’Souza, vice principal Belita Mascarenhas graced the programme. Few of our Lourdite family (parents) were in the audience. In conversation with the children, the principal stressed that children should have healthy food prepared out of rice, wheat etc. He appreciated the parents for taking time to prepare healthy snacks for their little ones. In his message he said that this programme is only the beginning to a healthy living which has to be followed throughout our lives. He appreciated the little ones for their wonderful performance and also thanked the parents and teachers for putting up this show.
The winners of the Healthy Diet were felicitated with certificates by dynamic principal Fr Robert D Souza.
The programme was compered by Linet Pereira who also thanked everyone for their contribution towards the project. The value of respect for food and people who toil for it was highlighted through this project.
