Mangaluru, Jun 18: Hyundai ITI Tie-up Education Programme is a CSR initiative from Hyundai Motor India Limited to bridge the gap between industrial requirement and the actual availability. This tie-up venture is between Hyundai Motor India Ltd and St Aloysius ITI for training the students of Mechanic motor vehicle trade.
During this programme, students go through well structured, systematic hands on job Hyundai training in addition to their regular curriculum. This tie-up is the only tie-up in Karnataka and the Graduation Day of 4th batch under this initiative was organized on Tuesday, June 18. Students had a written exam the previous day. Job interviews were conducted for the students by M/s Advaith Hyundai. All the 18 students of Mechanic Motor Vehicle trade were selected for the job and the offer letters were handed over to them during the formal programme.
G Sathish, training Head (South), Hyundai Motor India Ltd said, "It is one of the very successful tie-up ventures in whole of India. St Aloysius ITI is committed to the quality in education and as a result we have been able to provide 100% job placement fourth time in a row. This tie-up venture has created a win-win situation to both, us and the institution.” He thanked the institute management for the support and commitment towards the success of this training programme.
Addressing the students he said, "Every one of you has completed the training with flying colours. You are the champions. We are very proud of you and are sure that you would be the assets for our industry. Industry expects you to work as a team wherever you are placed and hence develop public relation skills. Do not be introverts, instead be extroverts. Build good relationship with your seniors and co-workers and learn from them. Till now, your parents have taken care of you. Now, it is the time for you to repay. Be honest in your work and take care of your parents.” He was talking during the Graduation Day of Hyundai-ITI Education programme for students.
In the beginning, Fr Cyril Dmello SJm director of the institution accorded a warm welcome and said, "I am very happy that this tie-up venture with Hyundai Motors is bearing fruits in multi-folds. Our earlier students are well placed at Hyundai dealerships and are excelling in their career. We at St Aloysius ITI, focus on building the character of our students. Along with acquiring technical skills, we want them to also grow as a good human being and become an asset to the society.”
The graduating students were awarded certificates and honoured during the programme. The toppers of the training programme were also honoured. The trainers, Karthik, trainer of M/s Advaith Hyundai and Robin Vas, trainer of St Aloysius ITI were honoured during the programme. Honourable guest Shashikanth Shetty, general manager, sales & service, Advaith Hyundai distributed the job offer letters to the students.
Delivering the presidential address Fr Dinoysius Vaz SJ, rector of St Aloysius Institutions said, "Congratulations dear students on securing the job even before completing the ITI course. In the times, where we see even Engineering graduates are unemployed, ITI students have plenty of jobs available. This is mainly because the training in ITIs is skill oriented. We at St Aloysius institutions train our students in soft skills as well. I wish all the best to the champions of this training programme. It is said, 'Once an Aloysian, always an Aloysian'. Wherever you go, take the values of Jesuit education with you and remember 3 C's- Competence in your field, Conscience to differentiaite good from bad and Compassion for the under privileged.”
Alwyn Menezes, vice principal rendered the vote of thanks. The programme was concluded with national anthem.
