Mangaluru, May 6: Blood Helpline Karnataka held three blood donation camps in Kumble, Kerala and Karnataka on May 4 and May 5 to tide over scarcity of blood in the month of Ramadan. 121 units blood was collected in three camps.
One of the camps was held on May 4 in the joint cooperation of Janaraksha donors Kasargod, Pachummas arts and sports club, Kumble, Kumble charity group and Red Cross society. 51 people took part and donated blood in the camp held in Kumble Academy College premises. Doctors and medical staff of Red Cross Society, blood bank unit Mangaluru helped to collect blood.
The second blood donation camp was held in assciation with Janaraksha blood donors Kasargod and Yenepoya hospital, Deralakatte on May 5 at Uluvar Sunni Center. Fifty people donated blood. Yenepoya Hospital Deralakatte doctors and staff helped to collect blood from the donors.
The third blood donation camp was held in association with Yenepoya Hospital, Deralakatte on May 5 at Dakshina Kannada district higher primary school, Badriya nagar. Yenepoya Hospital doctors and staff collected blood from twenty donors here.
The organizers thanked all those who helped directly or indirectly as well as activists and media representatives who worked for the success of the camps.
