Mangaluru, May 2: "The camps that are organized during the vacation are helping in forming the personality in children as well as bringing out the hidden talents in them," opined Mahabaleshwara M S, managing director and executive officer of Karnataka Bank.
Mahabaleshwara was speaking at the valedictory function of the 20 days of 'Shakti Can Create' organized by Shakti Residential School, Shaktinagar in the city during the summer vacation. He was the chief guest of the occasion. He further said, "If the teachers and parents continuously do the work of nurturing the brilliance, talent, human resources and the values in children then it amounts to increasing the resources of the nation. This is the main aim of education."
Speaking on the occasion, renowned Bharatanatyam artiste and teacher Sumangala Ratnakar said, "If the teachers and parents create opportunities and provide the platform for children to exhibit their talents, they will become the biggest asset of the nation."
Shakunatala R Kini, retired announcer of AIR Mangaluru, who participated as a chief guest, expressed her appreciation on the programmes in the camp that were systematically organized. Sanjit Naik, secretary of Shakti Education Trust, who presided over the valedictory function, said that equal importance should be given for subject and extracurricular activities in education.
Principal of the school Vidya Kamath G welcomed the gathering and also did the introduction. Naseem Banu introduced the guests to the audience. Yoga Guru Gopalakrishna Delampady and Janapad scholar Ramesh Kalmadi were felicitated on the occasion. In-charge of the camp, Poornima R Shetty read the report on the camp. Baikady Janardhan Achar, administrative officer congratulated the people, who strived for the success of the camp. Teacher Swati Bharat compered the programme.
