Young Man from Kanajar Killed in Road Accident in Muscat

Muscat, Mar 2: Stephen Castelino, a 33-year-old Mangalorean from Kanajar died in a tragic road accident near Muscat International Airport, Seeb, and Sultanate of Oman on Monday March 2, 2009.

Stephen Castelino, son of Ignatius and Anjeline Castelino, was working at Qurum Sultan Center’s Jean’s Grill Restaurant as bread maker since 2006. He had gone to the airport to reach his colleague Bashir Ahmed Nathu Khan of New Delhi last night. Bashir was leaving the country for good.  After completing the airport formalities and seeing off his friend, Stephen was returning to his accommodation in Ruwi.

At the time of accident, he was trying to cross the road to catch a taxi on the other side of the road and then, hit by a speeding vehicle. Seriously injured Stephen was rushed to Royal Hospital and but, as per reliable sources died around 5.15 am.

    It is absolutely terrifying to hear about this shocking tragedy. Stephen was the only hope for the family which has seen tragedy after tragedy.     I am shocked to hear this news! I still can see his innocent face in front of my eyes. He is such a nice person, soft to talk. I deeply mourn for his death & I believe he is already there with our Heavenly Father! This is our eternal home. May Lord Jesus fill his emptied place in his family & give strength to the family to bear his loss.

    I deeply mourn Stepen's untimely death and for sure my faith is that he will have a place at the right hand of the heavenly father in heaven for his innocent death. Needless to say my prayers are for him and his beloved family back home in Kanajar. May his departed soul RIP, Amen.
