Muscat, Mar 2: Stephen Castelino, a 33-year-old Mangalorean from Kanajar died in a tragic road accident near Muscat International Airport, Seeb, and Sultanate of Oman on Monday March 2, 2009.
Stephen Castelino, son of Ignatius and Anjeline Castelino, was working at Qurum Sultan Center’s Jean’s Grill Restaurant as bread maker since 2006. He had gone to the airport to reach his colleague Bashir Ahmed Nathu Khan of New Delhi last night. Bashir was leaving the country for good. After completing the airport formalities and seeing off his friend, Stephen was returning to his accommodation in Ruwi.
At the time of accident, he was trying to cross the road to catch a taxi on the other side of the road and then, hit by a speeding vehicle. Seriously injured Stephen was rushed to Royal Hospital and but, as per reliable sources died around 5.15 am.
