Bengaluru, Mar 20: Chittara and Grand Flea Market has organised a 10-day handicrafts and handicrafts exhibition cum sale "The Souq (Market) - Ugadi Shopping Carnival" from March 22 to 31at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat.
The aim of the exhibition is to promote a variety of handicrafts and handloom from across the country.
Weavers and craftsperson from Kashmir to Kanyakumari will sell their products directly to the customers thus eliminating the middlemen enabling the weavers and artisans to earn more on their products.
On display will be Tussar silk sarees, crepe and georgette silk, sarees, Arni silk sarees, Dharmavaram, Kanchipuram and wedding, raw silk and kosa silk sarees. The collection on display also includes Baluchari silk sarees, Matka silk, printed sarees, Pashmina sarees, designer dress materials and sarees, Maheshwari and Kota silk, temple border silk sarees, mulberry silk, Bhagalpur sarees, Uppada and Gadwalsarees, Banaras and Jamdani, silk, chiffon sarees, Butti work sarees, Chanderi silk and block printed sarees.
Apart from sarees, on display and sale will be kurta, stoles, shawl, salwarkameez, cushion covers and bed sheets. Jewellery will also be on display.
The exhibition will be open from 11 am to 7.30 pm from March to 31at Karnataka ChitrakalaParishat.
