Shivamogga, Mar 20: In a shocking incident, a couple in love, belonging to different religions committed suicide together here after realising that it was impossible for them to get married.

Newmandli resident Kaushik (19) and Hulideva Banagrama resident Mehtaj Shirin(18) are the deceased. They were BCom students.

Mehtaj was going to the college from Shivamogga hostel. They were classmates and had decided to get married as they were in love. But they were afraid that their respective families will not consent for their marriage as they belonged to different religions.

Therefore, Kaushik had brought Mehtaj to his residence. His mother had gone to Hanagerekatte with her friends. There was nobody at home. The two committed suicide by hanging in the house.

The family members of the boy were in shock and grief. Doddapete police who arrived after getting information have taken the dead bodies for postmortem. A police case is registered at Doddapete police station.

How sad. They were still in their teens.and wanted to get marry? They could have atleast ask someone about their problems .or wait for sometime to realize their wish till end of their studies. It is heartbreaking even to their parents family by this decision.Dear students in future please dont jump into a conclusion to suecide if something doesnt function. There is always a solution to every problem.thats why first findto solve with someone about it.Take your parents to heart, dont break their hearts.Heartfelt sympathys to bith familys.
