Udupi, Mar 19: Indrali JCI met and submitted an appeal to the deputy commissioner to maintain the well being of people at the places of road constructions.
They stated in the memorandum that the work on national highway through Manipal is progressing at brisk pace. “Several such places are filled with dust that adversely affects the people using the roads. Therefore, water should be sprayed lightly at least thrice per day in those places so that dust may not fly. The request needs urgent consideration.”
“Besides, traffic density increases forming traffic jams due to students and people going for work between 8.30 am till 9.30 am, 1 pm till 2.30 pm and 4 pm till 5 pm at Manipal Ishwaranagar, MIT, in front of Cancer hospital, near post office, Syndicate circle, near Indrali railway bridge and Kadiali ocean. Therefore, traffic policemen should be deployed in those places to prevent accidents and inconvenience to people.”
The deputy commissioner responded to the requests and assured of speedy action.
The programme was held in the direction of trainer and JCI Udupi Indrali founder Manoj Kadaba, unit president Ashok Poojary, zonal officer Sherly Manoj, secretary Radhakrishna, ladies wing president Mamatha Ashok and unit members were present.
