Udupi, Mar 16: Joy Elvine Martis who hails from Miyar-Karkala, here was recently awarded Doctorate in English by Rayalaseema University, Kurnool.
He successfully defended his thesis on the topic 'Sin and Contrition from the Perspectives of Humanism and Pshychoanalysis in the writings of Nathaniel Hawthorne' under the tutelage of Dr Lourdusamy, former chairman, PG dept of English, St Aloysius College, who is currently an Academic Advisor at Milagres College.
Joy presently teaches English at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte.
