Udupi, Mar 14: Narendra Modi fans and BJP ticket aspirant Jayaprakash Hegde's supporters and BJP party workers offered special prayers at Sri Chandramoulishwar temple, Anantheshwar temple and Lord Sri Krishna here on Thursday, March 14 for J P Hegde’s candidature for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency and Modi to become prime minister of India once again.
Harish Shetty, president of grama panchayat said, “Today we gathered here to offer prayer to God to fulfil our wish that Modi becomes the prime minister of India again. Our leader J P Hegde should get ticket from BJP as a candidate of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency, as he is a sincere and honest leader and has been with party workers throughout his journey. He is the most suitable candidate here. He responded very well to the grievances of public.”
Raghavendra Kini, BJP leader said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a good administrator and served the nation for five years. Once again a revolution will get start in the nation through Modi. Panchajanya should begin from land of Sri Krishna. We offered prayer to eradicate all evils against Modi.”
Kini further said, “The name of BJP candidate from here is yet to be announced. It is likely to be announced on March 16, soon after the parliamentary board meeting gets over. People always support those who are available for them in difficult situations. There is no reason to oppose Shobha Karandlaje’s candidature. She worked to the best of her capacity for the welfare of Udupi. There is no doubt over her effort. Locals opine that ticket should be given to the local candidate. Party workers should understand that she is a state level leader. She is supposed to go around the state. High command can give any decision. An internal survey has been done on Udupi-Chikkamagaluru to collect public opinion. Based on that, we are ready to support any candidate.”
