Mangaluru, Mar 8: A national level techno-cultural fest 'Envision-2019' will be organised by Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, here on March 11 and 12.

Envision-2019 will be inaugurated by Gaana Bhat, technical support engineer, Yahoo, Bengaluru as well as alumni, actress and model.

More than 800 students from over 50 Engineering colleges are expected to be participating in various technical and cultural events organised by different branches. CA A Raghavendra Rao, president, A Shama Rao Foundation, will preside over the function, Dr A Srinivas Rao, vice president, A Shama Rao Foundation, will be the guest of honour.

On March 11, events will be organised under different departments. Mechanical Engineering department will organise tussel of slides, off-road, mini militia and machine to win.

Information Science Engineering department will conduct a paper presentation, technical treasure hunt, photo editing and web designing/app development. The department of Computer Science and Engineering will organise Techronicles, Corporate Roadies, Coderz arena and Sherlocked. The department of Electronic and Communication Engineering will conduct a paper presentation, software and hardware debugging, Snapdragon and Tech-charades. Electrical and electronics Engineering department will conduct ultimate challenge – techno, fear mask and funk from junk. The department of Aeronautical Engineering will conduct water rocketry, walk along glider, variety and clash of vikings. The department of Automobile Engineering will conduct a paper presentation, auto puzzle, grease monkey and minute to win it.

The department of Marine Engineering will conduct pirate of SIT and survivors. The department of Nanotechnology Engineering will conduct wipe-out and tic tac toe. A quiz competition 'Quibble' will be hosted by all the departments.

On March 12 different cultural events will be organised. Singing events such as solo- Eastern, solo- Western and group singing will be organised under the banner 'Gaana'. Solo- Eastern, group- free style, dance to the tune and dance war will be organised under the banner of Naatya. Pencil driver, face painting, rangoli and photography will be organised under the banner Kala-Kuncha. Mad ads will be organised under the banner Abhinaya.

Also, a special event – Mr/Ms. Envision will be organised. These events will be open for all the Engineering students across the country as stated by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of the college. The event will close with an attractive programme 'El Grandé'. The fest will be convened by Deepak Raj, professor department of Aeronautical Engineering and organised by student organisers Dhananjay Kumar S, Preetha B and Nireeksha M M.
