Mangaluru, Jan 25: Congress spokesperson A C Vinayaraj alleged that MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has forced college students to attend the mass convention of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana held at B C Road through district health officer.
Addressing media here on Friday, January 25, A C Vinayaraj said, "Nalin Kumar Kateel made district health officer call concerned officials of colleges in Mangaluru to attend the mass convention. Even the circular was passed through district health officer to the colleges demanding students attend the convention held at B C Road.”
He also said, "In the year 2009, in order to provide gas connection to the households, UPA government had started RGGLVY (Rajiv Gandhi Gramin LPG Vitaran Yojana). After Narendra Modi government came to power, Rajiv Gandhi Gramin LPG Vitaran Yojana was renamed to Pradhan Mantri Ujjwal Yojana and BJP claimed it to be their scheme.”
“BJP are highlighting the progress and figures of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwal Yojana which was actually started by UPA government in the name of RGGLVY (Rajiv Gandhi Gramin LPG Vitaran Yojana). The mass convention of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana held at B C Road was a government programme and this was BJP's pre-preparation programme ahead of elections, which was proved by installing BJP flag during the event,” he said.
