Mangaluru, Dec 26: The seventh alumni meet of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management was organized at Sahyadri campus to celebrate and refresh old relationships and form new ones.
The chief guest of the event was Anil Uppin, former managing director, Karnataka Council for Technical up-gradation. Rohit Nara, founder & CEO, AGUA presided over as the guest of honour. In his speech he said, "There is no shortcut to success; persist and do not stop until you reach the goal; there is no substitution for hard work and finally never let anybody walk over you.”
Principal Dr R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the developments and achievements of the institution. He placed before the audience a proud picture of the various initiatives and projects undertaken and also the students’ achievements in sports and cultural events at the campus. While proudly speaking about the accolades and accreditations awarded to Sahyadri he explained how Sahyadri has grown by leaps and bounds over a short span of ten years since its inception.
Anil Uppin has an industrial experience of 36 years. He addressed the gathering and spoke about his connect with Sahyadri. He encouraged the alumni to be entrepreneurs and assured his perpetual support to them.
Rohith Nara, began his speech introducing himself as a person working for water technology. He stressed on the importance of water and spoke about entrepreneurship to the alumni. Apart from this, he mentioned a few key principles to be followed in life. He said, “There is no shortcut to success; persist and do not stop until you reach the goal; there is no substitution for hard work and finally never let anybody walkover you."
Manjunath Bhandary, chairman of Bhandary Foundation expressed his gratitude to the alumni for their contributions to the institution. He further advised the alumni that they can walk into the campus whenever they wish. Bhandary concluded his speech by stating that the alumni are the pride of Sahyadri.
Rashmi Bhandary, head of Placements, in her concluding remarks gave a message to the alumni, “Do well in life for you both professionally and personally." The inaugural programme was followed by fun-filled gala evening which included exciting games, campfire and cultural extravaganza hosted by the MBA students. The alumni cherished the chance to come back to their alma mater and relive their memories. They also appreciated the growth of the institution and assured to join hands and take Sahyadri to greater heights.
