Bengaluru, Dec 7: The state high court, on Thursday, December 6, issued stay against a case relating to the unnatural death of Shyam Prasad Shastri from Puttur. Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji of Ramachandrapur Math has been named as abettor in the case.
The single judge bench of the high court presided over by Justice Ashok Nijagannavar which heard the petitioner, issued stay until further orders.
Senior advocate, C V Nagesh, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, claimed that the Swamiji has nothing do with this case. He alleged that an effort is being made to unnecessarily frame him in the case by relying on baseless allegations that are not backed by evidences or documents. He also argued that criminal investigation department has filed charge sheet against the accused, but pointed out that the department, which is not a police station, does not have the right to file charge sheet.

Sri Ramachandrapur Math responded by saying that the stay order goes to prove that the allegations made against the Swamij are without any substance.
