Mangaluru, Nov 4: Mandd Sobhann, to support Konkani cinema and to honour Konkani cine artistes, is presenting the First Global Konkani Cine Awards – Hyssna Global Konkani Cine Awards on December 9 at 6.00 pm, at Kalaangann, Mangaluru.
Dr Shravan Kumar, joint secretary, ministry of culture, government of India, will be the chief guest. The eminent multi-lingual cine star Prakash Raj will be the celebrity guest.
Lorna, the nightingale of Goa, backed by a live band of accomplished musicians, led by Norman Cardozo will provide the music. Naisa Lotlikar, the young Goan singing sensation, will also be performing. Nach Sobhann will present dances. Arun Raj and Dr Ravishankar Rao from Mangaluru and Akshata Bhat from Goa will compere the programme.
The eminent panel of judges included – Dr Richard Castelino, Mangaluru, Jitendra Shikerkar, Goa, Rajesh Fernandes, Honnavar, Dr Rajay Pawar, Goa, John M Permannur, Charan Kumar, Mangalore and Dolwin Mendonca, Kolalgiri.
The awards consist of the coveted title, trophy and Rs. 25000 in cash.
Top 3 nominees in each of the 8 categories have been shortlisted by the Jury, and they have been invited to the Awards Ceremony, at which, the final winners will be declared. The top 3 Nominees of each category, are –
