Moodbidri, Nov 20: PBP Filmz a well-known television production house is all set to launch its new Konkani serial, which will be telecast in Daijiworld TV 24x7. The Muhurat for the serial was held at the residence of Saturine D'Silva, producer of the serial at Paladka on Tuesday, November 20.

Fr Ivan Rodrigues, parish priest, Paladka church, Adolphus Cutinha, senior actor and director, Andrew D'Souza, director, MCC bank lit the lamp and gave start to the Muhurat shot. The first ‘Action’ was sounded by Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Group.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Ivan said, “Paladka is known for artistes. Many actors from Paladka have made their name in drama, serial and movie industry. Well-known directors are born in this soil. Pradeep is one among them. Being a successful movie director, he brought the Paladka region in the limelight. I am very happy to know that he is directing a new serial for Daijiworld TV. He can definitely bring a good output and entertain the viewers. Along with Konkani's well-known artistes, many from Paladka are also acting in this serial. It is a great opportunity for them to learn new things from the senior artistes."

In his speech, Walter Nandalike said, "I know Pradeep from many years. He entered the field of art as a drama writer and artiste. Later he gave many hit dramas to the Konkani world. Years back, he directed a Konkani movie also. Now he is going to direct a serial for Daijiworld TV. Entire Konkani world knows his ability in acting and direction. He can do wonders on the silver screen. First of all I congratulate and wish him all the success. Many senior and experienced artistes are part of this serial. It is a golden opportunity for the junior artistes to learn something new from them,"

"Apart from Pradeep's serial, the shooting of other two Konkani serials is under progress. After the worldwide appreciation for popular programme 'Mhojo Tallo Gaitalo’, next year onwards the Konkani viewers of Daijiworld TV will get the chance to watch three different serials in a week," added Walter.

Briefing about the serial, Pradeep Barboza, director and script writer of the serial, said, "The new serial will have 25 episodes and is expected to be telecast from 2019. The storyline has both comedy and a social message. Konkani's well-known artistes are acting in this serial. The shooting is scheduled in the locations of Paladka and Moodbidri. Sattu D'Silva and Anil Fernandes are producing this serial and it is supported by Merit Freight Systems, Dubai and Lancy Pinto, Qatar."

Melwyn D'Almeida, Richard Sequeira, Rita D'Souza, Sapna Saldanha, Rohan, Edward Barboza and Claud D'Lima, were present among others.
