Mangaluru: Padua PU College celebrates Family Day

Mangaluru, Nov 19: Padua Pre-University College celebrated Family Day on November 17, an event organized collaboratively by the PTA members and the PU staff to strengthen the connection between parents, students, and faculty.

The formal programme began with a prayer song sung by the parents. The event was presided over by Fr Walter D’Souza, correspondent of Padua Educational Institutions. The chief guest for the occasion was Vinod D’Souza, associate professor at AJIET, Mangaluru, and vice president of the Bendur Parish Pastoral Parishad. Mariette Mascarenhas, principal, Nithasha, PTA representative, and Dr Ramprasad, lecturer in Hindi.

The principal warmly welcomed the gathering, followed by inspiring speeches from Vinod D’Souza, and Fr Walter D’Souza who emphasized the importance of collaboration and community in nurturing young minds.

Following the formal session, the morning activities transitioned into lively fun games and competitions for the parents. In the afternoon, the cultural programme commenced with an address by Fr Arun Wilson Lobo, campus director of Padua Educational Institutions. The cultural performances that followed showcased the diverse talents of parents, students, and teachers, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, celebrating the active participation and achievements of parents and students alike.

Family Day 2024 was a resounding success, characterized by enthusiastic participation and a palpable spirit of camaraderie. Parents appreciated the opportunity to better understand their children’s experiences at college, while students were delighted by the support and encouragement from their families. The day served as a perfect platform to foster joy, learning, and a stronger sense of community within the college.
