Hubballi, Nov 18: Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Saturday alleged that the central government was misusing the agencies such as CBI.
Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah said, "RSS has a fascist mindset and BJP rule is similar to that of Hitler's.”
Reacting to DCM G Parameshwara's statement that he was ready to become the chief minister if his high command asks him, Siddaramaiah said, "At present there is coalition government at state and H D Kumaraswamy has become the chief minister. The post is not vacant as of now. There are many senior leaders in our party who are aspirants of CM's post. It is not wrong to aspire to be one but the decision will be taken by the high command."
Earlier DCM G Parameshwara had said, "I have handled all the responsibilities handed over to me by the party high command so far. I am prepared to shoulder the responsibilities of chief minister also, if I am given the position. I have worked as KPCC president for eight years and have united the party in two elections. Our coalition government is formed this time and I have been given the position of deputy chief minister. I will remain quiet if no responsibility is given to me in the future. Giving or not giving work is left to them."
CM Kumaraswamy too reacted to the statement. “The position of chief minister is not permanent for anybody. There are several people in the state to perform in the position. Parameshwar also is an able leader. Let us not misunderstand his statement at this juncture. The chief minister said that there is nothing wrong in what DCM Parameshwar said. Several governments have ruled after the country got independence. Several people have become chief ministers. Parameshwar has only spoken that he too will perform as the chief minister if he gets an opportunity,” he had said.
