Udupi, Nov 19: Two separate road accidents were reported on the Santhekatte stretch of national highway 66 on November 17, leaving two pedestrians injured.
In the first incident, which occurred near Ashirvad in Puttur village, a bus traveling from Santhekatte towards Udupi allegedly struck a pedestrian, Zainabi Nadaf (27), from Bagalkote district. Zainabi, who was standing on the roadside, sustained injuries to her left hand and cheek. She was admitted to Adarsha Hospital in Udupi for treatment. A case has been registered at Udupi traffic police station.
In the second incident, at approximately 6:45 PM near the Puttur Bus Stand, a car driven by Rahil Ahmed, also traveling towards Udupi, reportedly hit Aditya (16) while he was crossing the Mangaluru-Kundapur road. Aditya sustained injuries to his left shoulder and forehead after falling on the road. He was taken to KMC Hospital, Manipal, for treatment. A case related to this incident has also been registered at Udupi traffic police station.
Police are investigating both incidents.
