Bengaluru, Nov 12: The arrest of former minister, B Janardhan Reddy, on the charges of accepting gold in connection with certain illegal transaction, has given rise to ripples in the political circles in the state. However, BJP leaders are tight-lipped about the happening, and they seem to be unmindful of this development.
The arrest apparently has affected Reddy's close friend, B Sramulu and his supporters. As per the advice given by the central leadership, BJP leaders in the state have been keeping discreet distance from Reddy.
Reacting to the development, BJP state general secretary and MLA, C T Ravi, said that one should not mix politics with this development. He noted that when raids had happened on certain persons by the enforcement directorate and income tax department in the past, Congress leaders had raised hue and cry that they were politiclly motivated. He said it would be wrong to brand such incidents as politically motivated, and asked Congress and other parties to own a similar stance.
"BJP has not entrusted any responsibility to Janardhan Reddy. This case pertains to personal allegations against him. Law is the same for everyone, and he will face law like everyone else," he observed.
