Mangaluru, Oct 27: Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (FMHMC), a branch of the prestigious Father Muller Charitable Institutions, here, organized the 23rd annual national Homoeopathic conference on October 27 and 28 at Father Muller Convention Centre, Kankanady, in the city.
The inaugural ceremony of the two-day conference was held on October 27 at Father Muller Convention Centre.
Dr Shivaprasad K, principal, FMHMC, introduced the dignitaries and extended a warm welcome to the gathering.
The programme commenced by invoking the Almighty through a prayer song, followed by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries.
Chief guest for the programme, Dr N L Tiwari, member of Board of Governors, Homoeopathy, ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi, in his inaugural address said, “Father Muller started the homeopathy hospital in the form of a small OPD and today it has turned to be an excellent establishment. Right from the beginning, the priests in the management have totally committed themselves to elevate homeopathy stream, which is now, the next alternative system of medicine.” Further, he appealed to the fraternity to strive to make homeopathy, achieve more prominent stature.
“Father Muller has become an inspiration to everyone to commit oneself to their work with love and service. The individuals we are today, it is because of the blessings of Father Muller. Let the vision of Father Muller reach greater heights and let us all endeavor to make homeopathy next to the alternative,” he added. On the occasion, Souvenir 2018 of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College was released by the dignitaries.
Guest of honour, Prof Dr P K Sudhir, vice chancellor, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation, deemed to be university, Salem, Tamil Nadu, inspired and motivated the students in his speech. He expressed his gratefulness toward the institution and proudly appreciated the growth of the institute. Recalling the contribution of the former bishop of Mangaluru, late Fr Dr Basil Salvadore D'Souza, former director, FMCI, Fr Peter Noronha and Dr M L Dhavle, said, "Because of their hard work, today, this institute has reached greater heights."
Further, he proudly exclaimed saying, “The academic upliftment I have gained today is because of the commitment and discipline I have achieved from Father Muller Institutions.
“Only 20% of the Indian population is involved in homeopathy. It is the duty of the fraternity to popularize homeopathy to reach the masses in public health delivery. Awareness needs to be increased and doctors need to be committed.” Further, he also expressed the need for producing more scientific homeopathy publications, which would be of great help for the upcoming generations.
Fr Sylvester Lobo, assistant administrator, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, in his speech, wished good luck to all the delegates and urged everyone to make the most out of the two-day conference.
Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions presided over the programme and felicitated the chief guest and guest of honour. Addressing the gathering, he said, “As a budding homoeopath, you need to contribute something to society. Further, appreciating the zeal of the faculty of the college, he said, "These conferences are a platform to share, rich knowledge filled experiences, which will benefit the delegates as well as contribute toward the development of homeopathy."
Dr G Rajachandra, organizing secretary rendered the vote of thanks. Dr Deepa Rebello and Dr Anusha G, staff of the institution, compered the programme.
The conference will include scientific sessions spread out over two days to enrich the delegate’s knowledge on Haemophilia, pathophysiology of Homoeopathic remedies, the importance of delusions in genetic disorders and crusty impetigo in children.
A national level quiz competition, poster presentation and open forum for the postgraduates and practitioners will be held as part of the conference.
