Udupi: Accident between motor bike, Tata Sumo - pillion rider killed

Udupi, Sep 6: In an accident which happened opposite Baliga Fishnet factory near Nittur, Kodankoor here on Tuesday September 4 afternoon, a pillion rider of a motor bike was killed after a Tata Sumo passenger vehicle hit the motor bike carrying him.

Rajith Kumar, resident of New Colony, Kodankoor, was killed in this accident. Sathish (34) from Kodankoor, who was riding the motor bike, suffered injuries. He is being treated in KMC Hospital Manipal.

It is said that the motor bike, which came from the direction of Ambagilu, was waiting to cross the road when the Tata Sumo which was moving towards Santhekatte from the direction of Karavali Junction hit the two-wheeler.

Ranjith Kumar, who suffered grave injuries after falling to the road in the accident, had been admitted into KMC Hospital Manipal. He did not respond to treatments and breathed his last in the evening, sources said.
