Udupi, Sep 3: August and September months of 2018 are being celebrated to create awareness against drug addiction under the joint hospices of Udupi district police, Udupi district working journalists' association and Udupi press club. Ramanji is contributing to this noble cause by donning the costume of 'Drugs Karkotaka' during the Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations with the intention of creating awareness on drug addiction among the devotees who throng in large numbers to this temple town during this festival.

Ramanji was welcomed by Laxman Nimbargi, SP of Udupi district by offering him a flower bouquet near the city bus stand and wishing him all the best in his mission.

Speaking to the media, Laxman Nimbargi said, "August and September months are being celebrated to create awareness against drug addiction. Every year Ramanji dons a meaningful costume during Shri Krishna Janmashtami and helps the poor by donating the money he gathers from the public. This year around, Ramanji is supporting us in this noble cause which we have organized jointly with the press association and working journalists' association of Udupi. This year too he has donned this costume with three noble intentions and I pray that all his wishes come true."
