Udupi, Aug 30: The dismembered body of Subrahmanya Acharya (31), resident of Vajpayee Nagar, Yermal Thenka near Padubidri, was found on the railway tracks at the railway over-bridge at Poondadu near Padubidri on Wednesday August 29.

Subrahmanya was last of the three sons of Laxman Acharya from Poondadu Vajpayee Nagar. He was involved in carpentry work and was on complete rest at his home since the last three months after suffering a leg fracture in a motor bike accident.

At 9 pm on Tuesday, Subrahmanya had left home telling his family that he would be witnessing the Aradhana Mahotsava of Raghavendra Math at Padebettu nearby. On Wednesday morning, his mutilated body was found on the railway tracks barely 500 metres from his home.

The relatives of the deceased, in a complaint made to Padubidri police, expressed suspicion of foul play in the carpenter's death. Subrahmanya, who was soft-natured, had lost his elder brother ten years back in mysterious circumstances. He has left behind three sisters. The bereaved family is very poor and the parents of the deceased youth are sick and bedridden.
