Udupi, Aug 26: The members of Dalitha Sangharsha Samithi Maha Okkoota, Dalitha Damanithara Horata Samiti and associated organizations staged a protest at Martyr Ground Ajjarkad here on Sunday, August 26 against the alleged incident of a fringe group burning a copy of the Constitution in New Delhi during a protest at Parliament Street.

G Rajashekhar of Komu Sauharda Vedike said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a killer and anti-nationalist, because he is the person, who witnessed the violence at Gujarat in 2002. Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat. He kept silent over the issue instead of condemning the incident. No action has been taken on any one. This was an anti-Constitutional action of Modi.”

Narayan Manoj, leader of DSS said, “The Hindu outfits are representing Muslims are terrorists. Some top political leader even told that ‘I will change the Constitution’. If they touched Constitution, the result will be different. There is limit for our patience. Constitution is not a religious scripture. It is beyond all the religious scriptures, drafted by Dr B R Ambedkar.”

A procession was held from Board High School to Ajjarkad.

Manjunath, Paniraj, Shyanubagh Birthi, Sundar Mastar, Shyam Sundar Thekkatte, Sundar Gujjarbettu and others were present.
