Puttur: Student goes missing - complaint filed

Puttur, Aug 26: Uppinangady police have received a complaint about the disappearance of a student named Shivaraj (15), son of Bommanna from Rifayi Nagara, Ilanthila village. It is said that Shivaraj, who was sleeping inside the house on Friday night, was found to have gone missing on Saturday morning.

Bommanna, who hails from Bannigoppa village in Shirahatti taluk, Gadag district, works for a farm in Ilanthila village. Both his children are students of Srirama high school Uppinangady. Shivaraj, a ninth standard student, was performing well in studies. On Friday, he had attended school, and went to bed after completing home work.

In the early morning on Saturday, Shivaraj's sister, who got up early for studying, was surprised to see that her elder brother was not on his bed. The family members then went searching for him. They only got the torch light of the family that was found lying by the side of Netravati River flowing nearby.

The police have undertaken investigation.
