Beltangady: Man accused of sexual harassment and assault of minor girl arrested

Beltangady, Aug 22: A team under the directions of DCIB police inspector Sunil Y Nayak arrested Mohammed Rafik (33), a resident of Beetike Mane, Charmady, Beltangady on charges of sexually harassing a minor girl and assaulting her. The accused was on the run for the last three months.

A case under section 108/18 u/s 341, 504, 506, 326 with JB Act 11 and 12 under POCSO act was registered against the accused on May 29, 2018.

Police staff Udaya Gowda and Pravin Rai arrested the accused near Mastikatte, Bellare. He was handed over to Dharmastala police station for further investigation.
