Mangaluru: Bishop's consecration preparations - Minister Khader visits Rosario Cathedral

Mangaluru, Aug 22: Minister for urban development and housing, U T Khader on Tuesday, August 22 visited Rosario cathedral and held discussions on arrangements for the consecration of the new bishop on September 15 with programme coordinator Fr J B Crasta and co-coordinator M P Noronha.

He said that the consecration of the new bishop of Mangaluru diocese is not a programme confined to one religion alone, but to the entire society. “Therefore, we will take measures so that the district administration extends complete cooperation for the programme,” he assured.



The programme will be held at Rosario cathedral. More than fifteen thousand people are expected to take part in it. Rosario church assistant parish priest Fr Flavian Lobo and vice president of parish pastoral council, C J Simon were present.

An invitation letter was handed over to the minister as a prelude to the programme.

    Good to see Minister Khader is keen interested in the conscreation ceremony of our New Bishop elect Msgr Peter Paul Saldanha. He is a gentlemen politician taking all religion people together and rendering his service to the society. May God bless his efforts. Let us all pray for our New Bishop elect Msgr PeterPaul Saldanha.

    It is good to see Minister Khader taking active interest in he forthcoming consecration of Bishop Peter Saldanha.

    Indeed Mr. Khader has all along been a peoples' man irrespective caste, creed or religion. It is people like these that bring a good name to the district or for that matter to the country.

    Mr. Khadhar is known for his dynamism and progressive policies. This role will bring in the unity and communal harmony that is so very essential for the all round growth of the nation.

    I join scores of people in offering prayers for the good and welfare of OUR NEW BISHOP TO BE .... his lordship Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha. May his tenure be a long and happy one
