Bengaluru: Governor's post - disappointment for Shankaramurthy again

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Aug 22: Former chairman of Karnataka legislative council, D H Shankaramurthy, failed again to get nominated to the post of the governor, although seven new governors were appointed to states by the President on Tuesday August 21.

Shankaramurthy, who served as chairman of legislative council here for long, retired recently and did not opt to fight the election again. After the NDA government rose to power at the centre in the year 2014, his name was in circulation repeatedly for the gubernatorial post. Shankaramurthy himself had said in the past that national leaders had contacted him to get to know his mind about being made the governor of a state.
