Mangaluru, May 4: Srinivas Institute of Technology on May 3 and 4 organised a two day student project exhibition.
The programme was inaugurated by Desmond Anthony Quadras, country head – Shell Retail Account, CBRE, Bengaluru. CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University and president of A Shama Rao Foundation presided over the function. The dais was shared by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology and Dr Ramachandra C G, project co-ordinator-20178.
Desmond Anthony Quadras briefed the students about applying their thoughts, bringing new ideas and transforming them into real time projects. He also motivated them to get into the company and love not just the company, but also their work and create their own history in the future. CA A Raghavendra Rao, encouraged the students to be unique in their profession as well as to take up their own actions and movements in life.
A total of 355 projects in all nine departments out of which 178 projects will be displayed by final year students. They include six projects sponsored by Karnataka State Council For Science & Technology (KSCST) Bengaluru while 176 projects will be displayed as mini projects by the pre-final year students. Out of this 103 projects will be from the department of Mechanical Engineering, 87 projects from the department of Computer science Engineering, 53 projects from the department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, 21 projects from the department of Information Science and Engineering, 24 projects from the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 22 projects from the department of Automobile Engineering, 22 projects from the department of Aeronautical Engineering, 16 projects from the department of Marine Engineering and 6 projects from the department of Nano Technology. A total of 30 first prizes and 28 second prizes were awarded to the students with cash prizes.
The programme was welcomed by Pratibha, from the eighth semester of Information Science & Engineering and vote of thanks by Vrishabh from eighth semester, Information Science & Engineering. The programme was anchored by Suraj from eighth semester of the department of Mechanical Engineering and Emy of eighth semester of the department of Computer Science.
