Bengaluru: Good for all – monsoon on time, normal rainfall predicted

Bengaluru, Apr 17: India meteorological department has predicted normal rainfall this rainy season. There is no delay in arrival of monsoon.

The farmers, who were in dire straits on account of erratic monsoon seasons in successive years, have now heaved a sigh of relief.

Almost half of the agriculturists in the country are dependent on monsoon for raising crops. The prediction of the department that there will not be any shortfall of rain this year has brought cheers to the farmer community. The news has also brought cheers to the ruling class as the country's economy is expected to record robust growth in the coming year.

Director general of the department, K G Ramesh, said that as per the calculation of his department, taking into account average rainfall in the past, the monsoon rain will clock 97 percent of normal rainfall this year.
