Kasargod, Apr 15: A small tribal girl from Kathua in Kashmir had become victim of lust and cruelty. People, organizations, and leaders have been holding protests across the nation against this incident. To pledge solidarity with the victim of this incident, a Malayalam journalist from Nileshwar has christened his newborn daughter after the victim of the said incident.
The post created by the journalist in question, Rajit Ram, which appeared along with the photograph of his daughter, has come in for lavish appreciation. Within a few minutes, this post was liked by over 25,000 and shared by 16,000 Facebook users.
Rajit Ram from Nileshwar, who works as sub-editor for 'Matru Bhoomi' from Kannur, announced through his post that he had named his daughter as Asifa S Raj. He said he took this decision because of his inner urge that the Kashmiri girl who faced this ordeal should get justice. His post has also drawn applause in Kashmir where people have praised his initiative and debated on the post.
Rajit was blessed with second daughter in February this year, and he was in search of suitable name for her. The name, 'Asifa' appeared to suit him after the cruelty faced by the eight-year-old became public.
