Bengaluru, April 7: As elections are approaching, candidates adopt innovative ways to lure voters. Suresh, a candidate in Chinthamani has offered three meals per day, two cups of coffee, 300 grams chicken and mutton per week for all, coriander powder chilly powder and pickle for women, if he gets elected.
The poster of Suresh with laughable assurances has gone viral in the social media.
Suresh says that the people in Bengaluru will become victims of selfish political leaders and become slaves of vices. “While some leaders do as promised, the others forget them,” he says.
The poster with the title 'Nanyake MLA agabaradu?' (Why cannot I become an MLA?) has become a matter of debate in the area.
“As the place is barren without water, agriculture is not possible here. Instead of that if the government provides suitable facilities, the people can have a life free from worries,” he says.
“People sell rice available in ration shops. Instead of that if we open canteens in panchayat and provide three meals and coffee or tea, twice in a day, the employment opportunities will increase. 300 grams of chicken, mutton will be given to all while coriander powder, chilly powder and pickle will be distributed among women,” he adds.
Free liquor
He has promised liquor once in a month for those above 18 years of age. “There are more than 40 bars in Chinthamani. The money paid by daily wage workers there gets converted as black money. Therefore, the bars should be closed and liquor should be distributed free once a month. Nobody will drink too much then and becomes alcoholics. They should pay tax on any items bought by them with the money saved by them. I will fulfil these promises through the government. The tax paid by people comes back to the government,” he states.
One wonders if Suresh will get elected.
