Bengaluru: Poll panel releases publicity materials, videos to enlighten voters

Bengaluru, Apr 4: The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) OP Rawat and Election Commissioners Sunil Arora and Ashok Lavasa have released publicity materials and video clips on various initiatives taken by the Election Commission of India (ECI) for the Karnataka Assembly Elections slated for May 12, 2018.

The CEC and other members of the national poll panel released the publicity materials and video clips in Bengaluru on Wednesday.


Pink (Sakhi) Booths for Women Voters

The first video clip was regarding Sakhi/Pink booths, featuring how for the first time in Karnataka Assembly Elections, the ECI will set up women-only polling booths.

These separate pink polling booths for women will have all female staff including presiding officers, polling officers, micro observers and security personnel.

The pink booths are aimed at empowering women and increasing their participation in the poll process.

Around 450 polling booths in Karnataka will have Sakhi polling stations.


Specially-abled to Get First Preference

The second video features on various facilities offered for the specially abled voters.

The video shows as to how the ECI has conducted door-to-door survey and has identified persons with disabilities (PWD).

Each of the polling booths will be equipped with wheel chair, magnifying glass among other progressive initiatives.

The personnel at the polling station will ensure that physically challenged electors are given priority for entering the polling station; without having to wait in the queue for other electors and all necessary assistance will be provided to them at the polling station.

The polling booths will have facilities where in the voters can take their wheel- chair inside the polling station. In the polling stations where permanent ramps have not been provided, temporary ramps have been created.

The personnel at the polling station have been instructed that physically challenged electors are given priority for entering the polling station without having to wait in the queue for other electors and all necessary assistance to be provided.


Focus on Voters of Primitive Tribes

The third video clip featured on sensitizing primitive tribes.

The video features some of the primitive tribes, who have settled in remote areas in some of the districts.

The districts are:

Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Mysuru, Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada.

The video features the tribal people expressing their happiness at various initiatives taken up by EC to boost voting.
Tribal women are seen talking highly about VVPAT and EVMs and how these machines have brought in the transparency in voting.

    We Kannadigas need more clarification from Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) OP Rawat and Election Commissioners Sunil Arora and Ashok Lavasa on EVM and VVPAT. This publicity materials, videos enlighten voters for the following questions?
    1. How does ECI does the verification of candidates affidavit which has many cases proved left blank or attached with fake disclosures?
    2. In terms of percentage how many VVPAT is counted in total number of seats Karnataka?
    3. Why does ECI choose to count VVPAT in closed door. When the democratic should be transparent?
    4. Do Voters list, EVM and VVPAT tally?
    5. How ECI give assurity to the Indian voters about the 'microchip' which is imported and installed on Indian machines owned by NRI's companies facing charges in US court,whose links are with Gujarat gas exploration block fraud to the tune of Rs20,000 crores?
    6. Did ECI has ever taken cognisance about the 'Salami Fraud' which transfer small percentage of votes from opposition candidates or NOTA?
    7. How many times EVM pre tested to its full capacity of votes?
    8. Is EVM going to be used in Karnataka , are the same of Gujarat, Tripura with same serial numbers?
    9. Why 18 lakh Muslim voters are missing from the voters list?
    10. More than 50% EVM machines malfunctioned in Tripura. If EVM's are tested why does most of them fail get replaced with new which is not tested?
    11. Why ECI has failed to act on 'poll code violations' as per the code conduct?
    12. What ECI stand on using religion in elections against Supreme Court verdict?
    I request 'Association for Democratic Rights ' to come forward to get this answer in written from ECI.

    Hats off to you Sir.
    All the mischievous games will be finished if they follow these protocols.
    The best is to ban the EVM's.
    There is still time but EC and Central govt. won't do that.

    Then how do you call it???

    Tampering is democratic set-Up???.
    Mr. Amit Shah can go to any extent with Crony Capitalist funds.

    The very purpose of Demonetisation was done in this country for election rigging and to break the knuckles of all opposition parties!!!

    Even they have done setting in appointing their own people in the top most institution (judiciary) which is the supreme court. What more do you expect from Adani &
    Ambani's money bags???
