Udupi, Apr 4: District in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj has sought additional security from the Home Department citing threats ahead of Karnataka assembly elections.
The minister said that he wrote to Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy to provide additional security to avoid any threats ahead of assembly polls.
But the home department is yet to reply in this regard.
“The matter regarding providing security is left to the state government,” Madhwaraj said.
Karnataka assembly elections will be held on May 12 and the results will be announced on May 15.
