Dubai, Feb 14: Noted Konkani Poet and Entrepreneur Dinesh Correa has been elected as the convener of Daiji Writers Forum, prominent forum of Konkani writers in UAE. He will team up with Naveen Sequeira of Maibhaas.com as co-convener and Poet Pius James D’souza as treasurer. The election for the term 2018-2019 was held recently under the supervision of Dayan D’Souza, the pillar and founder member of Daiji Writers Forum.
Dinesh Correa has published his poetry in several magazines and websites. Highly promising and multifaceted personality, Dinesh Correa, is also known for his entrepreneurial skills, acting, singing and compeering. Despite the responsibility of owning a company, he has taken the challenge of heading Daiji Writers forum to take it to new levels in Konkani literature and cultural activities.

Pius James D’Souza
Naveen Sequeira is known for very popular Konkani website www.maibhaas.com. He is one of the firsts to create a Konkani website in Kannada script. Today the website rightly boasts a wealth of literature. He owns a software company in Dubai that has created and commissioned websites to several firms in UAE and outside.
Pius James D’Souza is known for his stirring poetry under the pen-name ‘PJ Karugalnade’. His anthology of poetry ‘Nimani Sairik’ was well received by readers and critics bothl. Besides literature, acting and compeering has been his passion.
The outgoing convener Robert Udyavar expressed gratitude, showed appreciation for member’s faith and declared his complete backing to the new team. In his inaugural speech Dinesh Correa thanked the members, appealed for the support and assured to carry on with the literary missions of Daiji Writers Forum. Naveen Sequeira and Pius James D’souza supported him.
Daiji Writers Forum was formed in 1999 has grown leaps and bounds during last 19 years of ‘telltale’ history, that includes conferring annual literary awards and lifetime achievement awards, arranging workshops on literature, cultural programmes, Konkani standup comedy shows, publication of books, providing financial assistance to needy writers and getting involved in several other causes of Konkani.
