Mangaluru, Jan 25: ‘Samanvya-2018: A Confluence of thoughts', a day-long national level workshop by the department of Commerce and Business Management of Milagres College on the topic ‘Managing and Safeguarding Wealth’ was inaugurated at the college auditorium on Thursday, January 25.
Fr Antony Serrao, correspondent, Padua Educational Institutions and parish priest of St Sebastian Church, Bendore, inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp along with Fr Valerian D’Souza, correspondent, Milagres College, Fr Michael L Santhumayor, principal and Norbert M Shenoy, director, DECA FZE and managing director of Paradise Stone exporting Co Pvt Ltd.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Antony Serrao said, “The life we have is a one-time offer given by God to us. We have to use it in a systematic manner. Character is a huge wealth which we have to store in our life. Without good character, we cannot live happily in the society. Character measures love, patience, politeness and humanity. Hence, we should give first preference to these things in life. God has asked us to work hard and trust Him. Trust in God helps us to be good.”
Fr Valerian D'Souza said, "The topic 'Managing and Safeguarding Wealth' is relevant to everyone. Our life is built around wealth. Without wealth, we cannot move forward in life. Everyone is trying to earn wealth. While some earn wealth in the right way, some do it in wrong way. Gaining wealth by wrong means is wrong. People earning wealth in right methods, should know how to manage it. Safeguarding wealth is very important these days and so this seminar will be helpful to all."
Fr Micheal Santhumayor welcomed the dignitaries and gathering. Chethana S Acharya and Wilma Fernandes were present.
Cassin Rodrigues, vice-principal rendered vote of thanks. Well known resource persons will speak on the topics like personal financial managing, risk and return in investment and investigation, and measurement and safeguarding of immovable assets.
