Karwar, Jan 14: Veteran actor, Prakash Rai, said that he is opposed to functioning styles of all the political parties. He was addressing harmony walk and convention organized on Saturday January 13 at Raghavendra Kalyana Mantap, Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district.
"I am not opposed to BJP alone. We have to first kick out the chronic disease of the habit of disturbing harmony in the society that has got deep-rooted in political parties. We can think of minor issues later, once this is achieved," he stated.
"Those who vitiate harmonious environment of the society are lured by theirlust for power. But those who get involved with attacks and murders because of these lures, get jailed. The leaders are intoxicated with power, and they do not care for such distressed families. Political leaders keep misusing the innocence and ignorance of the people and cheat them for their own ends. We should raise our voices against these things and also prepare to fight against them," he stressed.
Martin Mukwan, activist from Ahmedabad, speaking on the occasion, regretted that inequality is prevalent in the society although law talks about equality. "Union minister, Ananth Kumar Hegde, speaks about bringing changes in the constitution. Will he change principles of secularism into communalism?" he wanted to know.
