Mangaluru: National level seminar on animation held at St Aloysius College

Mangaluru, Dec 9: The Department of Computer Science Application and Animation, St Aloysius College on December 9 organized a one-day national level seminar 'Sparkle 2017', at the Eric Mathias Hall. The seminar was inaugurated by chief guest Dr Richard Gonsalves, director, DDU Kaushal Kendra.

"Animation inculcates creative thoughts and better relationships," said Dr Richard Gonsalves in his inaugural address and urged the participants to employ their skills in varied fields like medicine, forensics, architecture and so on in lieu of being restricted to the field of entertainment.

Vice principal Dr Alwyn D'Sa addressed the function and expressed his appreciation for the vibrant functioning of the Department of Computer Science Application and Animation of St Aloysius College. "Animators have a wonderful role to play. As designers, sketchers, painters you are going to be the future healers of the world. Cross the boundaries of infinity, and the best animation will take place there,” he said.



"2016 and 2017 were the years of imagination, bringing in many innovations,” said Dr A M Narahari, registrar in his presidential address. He propounded that the purpose of this seminar is to celebrate humanity, commitment and sincerity and transform knowledge into wisdom that reinforces humanity.

The resource persons of the programme were well recognized persona of the animation industry of India; Nitin Rao Kumblekar, illustartor, Vivek Bolar, CEO, AUM Animation Studios, Mangaluru and Kishore Boloor, Digital Artist, Jungle Book.

Ashok M Prasad, dean of the Department of Computer Science Application and Animation, welcomed the gathering. The vote of thanks was delivered by Sathish Nayak, convener. Dr Vishanz Pinto, dean, Arts faculty, the student coordinators Abin Roy and Sharon Kalinse were also present.
